  1. Hey everyone.

I bought some new ram (512mb) and the shop added it to my other 512mb of ram to make 1gb of ram. But sometimes the computer says its 1gb of ram...and sometimes it says I only have 512mb of ram! Please help, whats wrong??

Yeah but it should stil detect it. Either you have a problem with the slot on your board the ram is in, or one of the chips is bad, OR those two specific chips just dont like each other (strange but it happens). I would try just using the new chip an see how the system acts then as a test.

I've had lots of problems with RAM sticks not working well with each other. Crucial gave me the most problems. Kingston also did not play well with others. Make sure you at least use the same brand of RAM when upgrading or else this could be your problem.
