I have a Sony DV that I use to record allot of home video.
I used a program from a friend called Pinnicale Studios.
I was wondering if this is a good program or should I use a method like capturing with Virtual Dub and then Scenanalyzer.
What would be the simplest method for a quality capture.
I would like to get the best quality I can.
    Thanks

    P.S.
I also have another program that came with the camera.
I guess my problem is I just dont know what to commit to.
My goal is the best SVCD's possible.

Well, the best capture is from your camera to your PC by fire wire. I would suggest investing in a fire wire card and a cable for around $30-$40. Then there is a very easy freeware program called DVIO. It captures your camera video very easily, and DV has the best quality. And the entire set up should not break you. Be advised, DV takes up a lot of disk space, so if your hard is not at least 80 GB, you may want to think about buying an additional one with at least that much.

If you are new to burning CD-Rs, you may also want to use CD-RWs. They are reuseable, and beginners seem to go through a lot of CDs when they first start out.

I do have the Firewire and large harddrive already.
I was more curious about the program that would do a scene analyze.
I have access to Priemer 6.0 but it is too complicated and I cant seem to figure out how to get it to automatically scene analys.
But I also got the impression Pinnicale for $40.00 must be not as good a quality program if its so cheap.
So its really the program that I should use is where I'm stuck.
