Is that ok? Is it supposed to show up as a 106d? I heard that they are exactly the same but the firmware is different. Please let me know.
Also i just bought the A06 today. What firmware should i be using? How do i even check the firmware?

the firmware on my 106D is the same as on my mates A06.
the only difference was the packaging.
one was OEM,the other was a full retail.
but we both now use the NILS 1.07 region free/12speedmaxrip/2xrecording on x1 media, and we got that from www.rpc1.org.
flashable through windows,no problems at all.
but if you only want to use the official firmware, its on the pioneer website,i think its still 1.07. -
http://www.rpc1.org./ is down. Do you know where else I can get this 'hacked' 1.07 firmware for my Pioneer 106D?
Email me..

obviously remove the "nospam" -
I've read that some of the A06/106 came w/ firmware that could not be flashed w/ hacked firmware. Any information on that. I think there is a 106U and another firmware version out there. Thanks
