  1. O.k. not really sure how to ask this question, trying to turn Sex & the City into one avi, but because you have to access the menu in the DVD to view each episode, I'm only getting the first episode to encode. Any thoughts or suggestions on how to by pass this so that I have all episodes in conjuction? Hope that made sense....

I haven't really understood why you need to merge your AVI files, but I believe ffmpegX has such a function. You should be able to keep them separate and have different menu buttons in the DVD menu select different episodes, the way GOD meant it to be
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."

    ok........

    This is what u do.......

Open the DVD folder, and on the first menu of FFmpegX, there should be a Title and Chapter selector. Choose the first episode.

Encode with your settings, then do it over again with the next episodes, either title or chapter.

using the SAME EXACT settings as the first episode, make the rest.

Open your first and second encoded episode, use the join feature. then take the newly joined avi, and the third episode, and join them, and so on and so forth.

    I hope this helps.

you can also cut and paste .avi files in quicktime pro - given that they were encoded with the same codec and settings (actually maybe they don't even need to be the same)
    good luck

  5. Well, I downloaded ffmpegx and set it up, when I go to encode I get a message that says"DVD device not available" to comply w/copyright laws, DVD device input is not allowed. Please select a file or a non encrypted VIDEO_TS folder from your hard disk.

    Now what should I do?
