I did some encodes recently in "safe mode". This seemed to take quite a while longer than in normal mode - anyone know why ?

for the $2,000+ you paid for the encoder I would ask cinemacraft. or "backgrade" to v2.50.

im not sure about safe mode in 2K/XP but it wont use 16-bit drivers because its a compleatly 32-bit os unlike 98/ME

Windows safe mode only loads the bare minimums to get the OS up and running so you can fix any problems that occurred during a normal bootup.
I'd make sure that your machine boots up clean and run in normal mode when doing CPU intensive tasks like capturing and encoding. -
why are you in safe mode if normal is working
pardon my ignorance regarding CCE.
