K, so I made these menus with tscv, it's one hell of a bugged program but it gets it done... kinda. Anyway, it never renders the chapters when I click the 'make menu' of the 'chapter menu' creator... it's all black, that's not the way I want it!

this is just my new thought about this... no to cvd!/svcd/vcd why not just create lower res dvd as 352x288 is a valid dvd spec, also 352x576 is also a valid dvd spec. These respectively replace vcd and svcd but ALLOW YOU TO USE ALL DVD tools. Many audio tracks and subtitles and menus properly supported. I cant really think of a problem with this except that if you are burning to a cdr then your player may not recognize it as a valid "dvd" as its not on the right media. any thoughts?
