  1. hello everybody, I have a problem with an AVI of mine: the volume is too low even when volume is set to max. I noticed that with ac3, I can raise the volume more. The audio format is "mpeglayer3 (mp3) (0x0055) ISO/MPEG"...what can i do to solve this problem?
    Thank you for your help

  2. You can split the audio out - VirtualDub can do this for you, or an easy way is to open the file in GoldWave, and Save as a wav.

You can then open the audio file in something like GoldWave and normalise the levels (in GoldWave, Volume->Maximise).

This will make the audio as loud as it can be without clipping/distorting.

You can re-encode the audio as an mp3 with GoldWave, or with VirtualDub. You'll probably need LAME plugged in to GoldWave, or the LAME ACM mp3 codec installed for VirtualDub.

VirtualDub can then put the audio and video back together again.

See the tools section for all of these programs.

    cheers,
    mcdruid.
