  1. I recently got WINDVR 3 and I really like the program. My problem is that after I ran it the first time, it won't open anymore. I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it, and still it won't get past the splash screen.

I have all the latests WDM drivers, DirectX9.0b, and vid drivers. And WINDVR worked great the first and only time it worked.

Anyone else have this problem? Or know of a way I might fix it?

    Let me guess, winXP right?

WinDVR works best with w2k and DirectX8.1 from what I know.
    If that helps somehow...

  3. yea man i have only problems with WinDVR too

First of all i cannot get the scheduler to work properly in XP SP1, DX9.0b+ tuner patch and WinDVR3. It simply refuses to start at the preset time and start recording...in Windows 2000 SP4 it worked, in Win2000 SP2 it didn't !?!?!?! Absolutely exact same config, patch levels, etc...

2nd Problem: WinDVR 2 scheduler works OK in XP SP1 but i cannot select "Line-in" as the audio source, which is driving me NUTS...i reinstalled 2 times, rebooted in between 10 times, etc...So basically i can record in XP SP1 using WinDVR2 but without sound...which i can completely throw out of the fscking window

Worst problem of all is that WinDVR has the best quality of all PVR software out there...PowerVCR II v3 does not come even close...oh, and it's scheduler also doesn't work. LOL?

I strongly tip on a SP1 specific problem with DX9.0b and tuner/capture drivers for most BT 8x8 cards.

Intervideo Support doesn't bother of course to answer my emails, because stupid me i only use the trial version, so WTF should they be stupid to waste their time with me? But im not gonna waste my money either on their crap software/support, so go fsck yourself dudes...

Yea i'm pretty pissed in case you were wondering....

  4. ok i got WinDVR2 to work

the scheduler works ok, i tested 3 times...it even starts the program 1/2 a minute before the recording begins I get sound using the microphone input instead of line-in, at first the sound was distorted as hell, but i disabled the +20db auto boost and now it's ok.

    Recording MPEG2 @ 3500 kbps, 48khz 224kbit audio, 25fps, 480x576 resolution.

    XP+SP1, DX9.0b, SB Audigy2, P4 2.6C w/HT, 512MB DDR466 Kingston HyperX, Asus P4P800 mobo, Club3D Radeon 9800Pro, Hauppauge WinTV GO tuner card.

    I'm a happy camper finally :P :P :P

If you read the whole post you'll see that the only problem i had with Windvr2 was the missing "line-in" option in audio properties. Scheduler worked fine from the beginning.

Only in Windvr3 it doesn't work...
