Hi I've being making dvds for a while now, butI have not done vhs to a dvd format.I have just bought a tv card so I can capture my video, the trouble is when I try to convert it with Ulead Video Studio, it alway crashs before it is completed. It works if I only encode a little bit of the mpeg, but whe I try to encode a big portion of the mpeg say one and half hours worth to a title set on my hard drive it keeps crashing. Can anybody recommend another program for doing this ? or have any idea ho to get arround the crashing problem.

    My computer spec is

    pc chips 810 motherbord
half a of gig of ram
180 gig of hard disk space

    Thanks

Have you installed any of the patches? If you did, you did not mention it or anything else you tried.
    Hello.

    FAT32 or NTFS?
    Turn your screensaver off.
Shut your virus scanner off(some auto scan when idle for a set time, idle is defined as no typing or mouse movements)
Free space? You can easily use triple the final result in scratch files.

Try CCE or TMPGEnc, both are superior encoders to Ulead.
