I've been ripping all my dvd's at about 2-2.4x with no problems. When ripping Day of the Dead, it ripped at a nice 10X speed...but when watching the back up I noticed maybe 3 parts towards the ended that either studdered or you saw the digital blocks go by.

Do you stand the chance of unreliable rips if you do them at 10x instead of the slower 2x? I have my Liteon waiting to go in but now I'm afraid to rip movies at high speeds on the unlocked Lite On....maybe it was just the original DVD itself...it looked weird on dark parts too...like you saw a grainyness coming and going in dark scenes.

Anyone have problems ripping at highspeeds? Is it reccommended?

I have also ripped at the highest speed with my Pioneer AO5 with no problems. Probably ripped in excess of 200 DVD's.
