  1. I have 2 DVDs with some homemade movies made with Studio 8 (rendered, i burned the resulting mpeg2s with Nero Express).
Now I want to make one DVD since each are only half full.

I don't have the original mpeg2s. How to a move them to one DVD as simple as possible.

I have the original DV fotage but that'll take weeks to edit so i rather not.

Sounds easy enuff, You didnt state whether the files are on the DVD as Standard DATA or as DVD-Video.
If theyre standard data just copy them to your HD from Both DVD's and reburn them.

If theyre in DVD-Video format and hence they are in VOB format stored in Video_ts directory, Then get yourself TMPGenc
    http://www.tmpgenc.net/e_main.html
Goto File/Mpeg Tools and choose "Simple Demultiplex", load in a Vob file, Your first main file should be called VTS_01_1.VOB. You can tell which are the main files generally by the size.

Give the Video and Sound output names and locations to save on your HD.
    Do this with Both DVD's
Now load them all back into the DVD authoring software of your choice and Author away.
Pretty much all DVD authoring software accepts demuxed sources

  5. Thanks for the replies. I guess I made a slight detour. I used vobedit to demux and then remuxed the m2v and the audiofile in tempgenc to get back what i believ is the original mpeg2 file

One question though. The original were encoded in 6000 Mbit/s in Pinnacle but the resulting mpeg is at 9800 acording to the info in Elecard mpegplayer, what gives?

  6. You could also use DVDShrink to create a new DVD from both discs. If they fit without compression it will only rip them and create a new DVD structure for you. Can't see how it would be any easier than that.

The mpegs were encoded with Variable Bit Rate. The average was
6000 but with VBR the reports show the Peak rate
