  1. I have just bought a LG GSB-4040B and have had mixed success in copying.
    DVD5 2 DVD5 no problem
But with DVD9 2 DVD5 I have had a few successes and a few failures.

THe failures seem to rest on one problem.
I am using DVD Decrypter then DVD2ONE to convert and CopyToDVD to burn.

The ripped files will run perfectly of the HD, the converted files (after DVD2ONE) run perfectly of the HD but the burnt copy won't work.

I've tried burning at slower speeds. Do you think a different burning program could help?

    Cheers

    What media are you using?

I'm not familiar with Copy to DVD but if the DVD will play on the HD then it should play on the disc. The burner just burns what you give it.

Again not familiar with copy to DVD but I would try creating an image file or ISO and using DVD Decrypter to burn it.

I don't think it is necessary to burn at a slower speed. I burn at 4x using a Pioneer DVR-105 burning on RitekG04 discs and have never made a coaster (knock on wood).

  4. I always use dvd2one instead of dvd shrink n dont have any probs.

The problem prob lies in either the media, Try some diff brands or in the burning software, i prefer Nero

Please can you take a look at my "Why oh why can't I record a DVD-R? " thread as I have problems with that drive.

I'm using Ritek Yellow Top 4.7Gb 2x DVD-R discs with a purple writing side, if that helps, but it writes at 1x.

    TIA,
