I think the QuickTime MPEG2 export component was updated for DVD Studio Pro 2. Also, and I'm just guessing here, that DVD Studio Pro 2 prefers encodes from Compressor? Use Compressor -- it's more flexible than QuickTime MPEG2 exports.

  3. The use of compressor produces m2v that are equally not readable by DVDSP2...

  4. Something is wrong with Your instalation/copy of DVD Studio Pro 2...It works/import .m2v perfectly...

Regarding AntnyMD guess...It imports .mv2 encoded with various tools, not only Compressor perfectly too..

Ever since I bought my ADS instant DVD box, I've grown entirely impatient with software encoding.

Unless you like to edit your captured video in iMovie or somesuch program before burning to DVD... Commercials are bad, mmmkay.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."

I too noticed that DVD Studio Pro 2 is more picky about the m2v files it imports. MPEG2 streams produced with my DVD Recorder that the old version happily accepted won't import into the new version. Make sure your mpeg2 is set to 720x480 @ 29.97fps (NTSC) or 720x576 @ 25 fps (PAL). Once it imports you will notice a red dot next to the video stream. That mean the program isn't done check the video. Until it finishs you will have problem using the asset in your project. Once it turns green you are good to go. Be patient!

The capturing software that controls the ADS device, called PixeDV, is also an MPEG editor. It edits on I frames, which the hardware encoder inserts every half second. Editing in this manner enables the output to remain in sync. Although not as precise as DV (the name of the software is a little misleading -- the USB version of the device does not capture in DV format), you save time using it by not having to use a software encoder before authoring as DVD.
