no audio after first few seconds

The quest to get chapters working again continues ...

During latest test I observed the following using a divx ac3 audio source, clip is approx 2100 frames and was obtained by using virtmoddub to extract the 1st 2100 frames of a movie.

AVI clip plays OK
TMPGeng (avi-video>m2v) + BeSweet (ac3>mp2) + TMPGenc (m2v+mp2>mpegA) mpegA plays OK
SVCD2DVD (mpegA>elemental>mpegB) mpegB goes silent after 3 seconds
SVCD2DVD (mpegB>vob) VOB goes silent after 3 seconds

I used TMPGeng to simple demux the SVCD2DVD generated mpegB and file size alone tells me I'm missing a lot of audio.

I play mpegs using PowerDVD-XP, a recent test which did not involve ac3 audio and BeSweet ac3>mp2 conversion worked OK - well chapters didn't but I'm getting used to seeing that.

PC has reformatted with new install of everything [XP, gKnot + codec pack, TMPGenc, SVCD2DVD, divx5.1]. I'm about to do a full XP update via MSoft (including AV drivers).
