  1. If I have a 576 x 256 Divx and run it through Mainconcept for DVD output with no changes in the resizing, it comes out full screen instead of widescreen.

What parameters do I use in the Mainconcept resizing window. If I use 576 x 256 I get a small box in the upper corner...

I think mainconcept tries to make it fit 720x480.....which loses the widescreen.

I could use virtual dub to do the resizing, but I rather have mainconcept do the whole thing.

  5. Ok, figure this out the hard way. Thanks for the preview idea.

Took a 640 x 272 file and performed the following math for conversion to DVD (720x480)

720/640 times 272 times 11/10=336 for the height.

Changed the height in mainconcept WITHOUT changing the center number.

Presto, works great with black borders. Got the info from the site below...my problem before was changing the center to be 1/2 of 336..big mistake.

Of course, the avi is 23.976 frames....but mainconcept able to encode no problem to 29 frames....I think it gets bigger with that approach.

  6. I believe all you do is click the details button and goto advanced settings and set the aspect ratio to 16:9

    Works for me every time.

  7. hi

Just read thepost before mine and the display is in the drop down box.
If u start mainconcept up and go to the help menu at the top, this will open up acrobat reader and the info is in there.
