    Can you tell what is the best and most easiest fool proof programme to use to cut one larg AVI or MPG into 2 smaller manageable pieces?

    Mpeg...TMPGEnc

    Look in the Edit section (over there <-<-<-) for directions.

    The most foolproof I found is AviSynth, but it is advanced, it can cut both AVI and MPEG files.

    TMPGEnc can cut MPEG files without encoding, using the Merg & Cut function. It is less reliable with AVI/MPEG editing with its Source Range function.

    My favorite, is Video Studio. It is just too easy.
