Hello,
I have a problem authoring a DVD with IfoEdit.
I have created a .m2v and a .wav (or .ac3) file and a .sup file.
I wish to join them so I can create a DVD with switchable subs.
When authoring with IfoEdit in DVD authoring mode, I come up with a set of .vob files which are out of sync. The video and audio play with different speeds (when playing on my computer, the video moves too fast, but the audio is o.k. and when playing on my standalone, the video moves quite normal, but the audio is choppy and stops with regular intervalls).
However, when I author the same files (except the .sup file) with TmpgEnc DVD Author (this program does not support subtitles as far as I know) both video and audio play at normal speed and are perfectly synced.
As a test I tried authoring the same files in IfoEdit again, but without the .sup file. This one was also out of sync.
I don't understand this, because it obviously cannot be caused by corrupted source files.
Before, I did the same thing with another movie, also using IfoEdit, and this worked just fine, including switchable subs.
Does anyone have a suggestion, or knows another authoring program which supports subtitles which I can try?

I gave it some thought, and came up with a theory.
The movies that have gone wrong, were files created by TmpgEnc (converted divx files), video as well as audio. The movie that did work, had ac3 audio, which I ripped with virtualdub and then later converted to ac3.
I believe that IfoEdit has problems reading the audio files created by TmpgEnc. I now want to try ripping the audio seperate and then joining it with the video from TmpgEnc and the subtitle file.
I hope this will work. -
Yes, as I've successfully authored a DVD (demuxed and shrunk m2v + demuxed ac3 + ripped and converted subs from original DVD) it's not a consistent problem per se. If any of the streams can be used "as is", you're better off just demuxing it.
