Hey people I'm trying to use Virtual dub to edit and AVI but I get the following error message when I try to open the AVI file with Virtual Dub:
"Couldn't Locate decompressor for format 'MP42' (Microsoft High-Speed MPEG-4 V2)
VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs such as those used by Windows Media Player are not suitable."
Can anyone help me with this issue?

Maybe you should go to the Tools section and do a search for mp42 and see if the codec is listed.
Hello. -
There's a small package called Microsoft MPEG Codecs. You need to install these.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
