  1. I have a Philips DVD750VR DVD-VHS combo unit I am making XVCDs and XSVCDs for. The videos play just fine on my PC from the disk. But when I move it to my standalone. The audio is out of phase(?). It is not out of sync. It is distorted and low sounding. A compliand VCD and SVCD play fine on the unit. I have tried 44100K and 48000K audio. Video size, framerate, KBs for video, and VBR/CBR all give the same results.

Maybe there is nothing I can do. Maybe is is the standalone. But I thought I would ask.

    Thanks for the help

You player just doesn't like your X(S)VCD's. Try lowering the bitrate.

Thanks for the reply. That is kind of what I thought. I have tried all different bitrates from 900-2500k and audio from 96-256k. My player may not like non-compliant VCD/SVCD. But I had to ask.

I found an image of KVCD files on the KVCD.net site. I will burn that tonight and see if any of those work better.

  4. All,

I did not test the KVCD image last night. But I was able to try other TMPGE templates for MPEG1 from KVCD.net and others. I found that as long as I used very high video bitrates and 44100x224k audio, my picture and audio looked fine. I must have been mistaken on some of the settings I had tried in the past; I had tried so many things.

Kwag's template for 352x480 and 528 x480 Mpeg 1 worked very well with my unit. I wish there was a better way to predict the file size, but that is another thread.

I will try MPEG2 tonight, and maybe the test image. I may mess with the audio bit rates as well.
