Yeah, TMPGEnc does not support RM format, and there is no plan to support it in the future due to the license issue. Try EO Video, I am really happy with it so far.

EO WILL NOT OPEN IT EITHER ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS. It says it is not a valid folder. it says the extension is RM. But it is an mpeg video

You need real player on your computer for EO video to work!!

  5. Another alternative to EO is TINRA - which I find very good.

I think you will need Real Player (or perhaps Real Alternative) for either to work.

As an aside - I wouldn't use Nimo.. but you already have

If it's an MPEG video already , why are you looking to convert it
    to MPEG ?

You need to figure what your source really is. Is it MPG or something else somehow renamed/confused as RM file?

EO Video comes with its own player, so it should not have any problem playing Real Movie file. If the file extension is RMVB, rename it to RM before feed it to EO Video.

TINRA is good for converting from RM to AVI, not to MPG. Unless you want to convert to AVI first, then MPG, but why the extra conversion???

  8. You do need to have RealPlayer installed on your computer to convert an RM file to avi. However, tinra won't work unless you have RealPlayer 8 installed which you can find here:

    http://forms.real.com/real/player/blackjack.html?src=serviceandsupport.

RealONE Player needs to be removed first, then install RealPlayer 8. Then, you should be able to convert an RM file with no problems. (Real Alternative does not work with tinra. I tried it already.) Any other questions, please ask.

See if it will play in VirtualDubMod or VdubMpg.
If so you are home free
