  1. I downloaded the dvdlab trial last night, to author and burn a copy of a movie. The movie is already in mpg format, courtesy of tmpgenc.

Anyway, I created my menus, and then hit "compile dvd". Apparently it was just about done creating the temporary vob file when I got an error, and the process came to a halt.

Sorry, I don't remember the error offhand; it was late and I just went to bed after it happened.

But I could tell that the vob file in the temporary files directory was just about done (about 4 GB of a 4.2 GB file).

This is under winxp home edition. Anybody else have this problem?

    Thanks.

without knowing what the error was, it's hard to say.

can you replicate the error, and copy/paste what it said?

Are you using NTFS or FAT32 file system? FAT32 has a 4gb limit. I'm not sure if DVD-Lab creates one big temp file during compile. It sounds like it does. If you do have FAT32 this could be the reason why it's failing at this point. I believe you can convert your volume to NTFS within WinXP.

  5. That was one of the first things I thought of, but the file system that I was using for the temp file was NTFS.
