  1. Has anyone out there found it possible to:

    1. High Speed Dub from DVD-Ram to HDD AND then High Speed Dub that same program to DVD-R. (my O>> icon will not appear if I do this even with DVD-Recordable on)

    2. Record in Real Time from DVD-R (because that's the only place I have my home video and since it can't be done HS...) by playing it on the e80h recorder and recording it at the same time to the HDD?

It would make all the difference in the world if I could do either of these.

  2. I haven't tried to dub back from RAM to the HD yet, so I can't add any advice on the first question. However, you cannot dub from DVD-R to the HD which is what you are essentially trying to do in your second question. You could try dubbing from another DVD player though. I used to do this with my E30 (before my E100H) and never had a problem with recorder created discs. Not as good as an internal dubbing, but still an option.

I was also thinking of converting a DVD-R to RAM on my computer for dubbing to my harddrive but haven't come up with a lossless ("no re-encoding") method yet. If anyone has a way to go from DVD-R to RAM w/o re-encoding, please let me know (I know you can go from RAM to DVD-R if no edits are made using MF2).

  3. So are you saying that on your e100 you are able to record from DVD-R to HDD?

  4. Sorry for the confusion. No, you cannot dub internally from DVD-R to the HD on any Panasonic model (though you should be able to dub from another DVD player to the HD). My comment about pre-E100H dubbing only meant that I use my E100H for dubbing from HD to a DVD-R now, since I did not have a HD to dub from with my E30 (everything was from another DVD-R in the first place). If you have a DVD-R that you want on your HD, you could still use the same method though.

I would like a way to copy DVD-R to RAM w/o re-encoding so that I could dub to the HD for editing and DVD-R creation (I have some DVD-Rs of TV shows with commericals that were recorded in XP mode).
