I've just got SVCD2DVD and installed it and ran fine on the testbed machine on my home network. As everything was fine I installed it on the machine that is devoted to vidoe editing (sorry, but I'm very careful what I install on this machine) and I'm getting the MSI installe running when I try and start SVCDDVD.

So read the FAQ's and found the link to "RemoveMSI.exe" but every attempt I've made either to left click the link or rhight click and "save taget as" has failed. I alo found the same link in an earlier thread on this forum but get the same results.

Help anyone please, I'd be most grateful

Sorry guy's but I'm still stuck. I can't get SVCD2MPG to run on this machine.

Just to confirm it's a Dell Precision 330. Radeon 7500 graphics card, Canopus DV Storm 2, 750mb ram, 2 scsi hd's on an Adaptec 29160N, 1 ide and a cdrom on the mobo primary and secondary and AOpen DVD + burner on a SIIG Ultra ATA 133 PCI add in card. Windows XP Pro patched right up to date. I've confirmed .Net Framework 1.1 is installed, at least according to Add & Remove in Control Panel. I did down load it again just now and installed again so I guess it's there.

I can run the SVCD2MPG installer and everything looks fine. Unzip my reg file into the directory but when I open the program I get the installer running to "configure Microsoft .Net Framework". This stops and say's " The featrure you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" then gives me the option to specify a location for netfx.msi.
I've done a search and can't find it anywhere. So I "cancel" and get "Error 1706 No valid source code for product Microsoft .Net Framework could be found the Windows installer cannot continue"

So I've run RemoveMSI.exe, fixed the shortcuts and still get all the same stuff when I try to open SVCD2DVD.

I know I must be missing something, I'm just too stupid to know what.

    Hope this makes sense.

    Regards

Ok so I just made it worse.

Uninstalled .Net Framework and SVCD2MPG. Reinstalled both.

    Now I get

Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.

    Process id=0x4e0 (1248), Thread id=0x410 (1040).

    Regards

you could try uninstalling svcd2dvd & .net. Then install .net 1.0 followed by .net 1.1 followed by svcd2dvd.

Pain in the arse but it has worked before for other peeps

    Uninstalled .Net Framework 1.1
    Uninstalled SVCD2DVD
    Reboot
    Install .Net Framework 1.0 (1.0.375)
    Reboot
    Install .Net Framework 1.1
    Reboot
    Install SVCD2MPG
    Reboot

Started SVCD2MPG and it ran the updater and everything seems fine.

    Many thank's again.
