Is there any freeware out there that'll look at an AVI file and report whether it's top-field-first or bottom-field-first?

Thanks, guys. Another related question comes to mind now. Is it possible that VirtualDub Capture defaults to capturing the same field first *every time*? Or is it random?
Or is this not determined by the software, but the capture card? If so, does the capture card do top-field-first or bottom-field-first every time? Or is *that* random? -

AFAIK, only those cards from Hauppage have "Field" bug. I mean, those
from the PVR lines. I have the oldest version PVR USB from like maybe
3 years ago, and only did 352 x 480. But, this guy had a "Field" order bug.
The other PVR's from that era suffers from this too, but they still do a great
job :P ..just don't run it through DVD2AVI, cause you'll get a bad IVTC w/ it if
you do - though theirs a work-around (I helped someone w/ this issue early
this year on it, and it worked out great) anyways..
Thats about all I know for now
