  1. I had wanted to know if there was a program that could create DVD AC-3 from 6 to 8 mono wavs? I found an old program from Sonic Foundry, but it doesn't exist anymore. I also found that Vegas+DVD has a AC-3 encoder, but I think it requires ACID PRO 4, I only have ACID 2. If anyone has used it please let me know if it works. Also if there are any cheaper or freeware programs to create AC-3 files.

vegas + dvda does it (including ac3 5:1 EX) and doesnt require acid (any version)

you could also do it in acid with the ac3 pack ..

  4. As far as I can tell BeSweet doesn't support encoding multiple files into 6 channel AC3 file. YMMV.

Also, Besweet isn't exactly reliable when it comes to set top playback.

  6. Okay, I did find that BeSweet can handle it.. I did have problems using the latest 'stable' but the current beta seemed to work okay.

  7. Yep, Pioneer DVD players barf on AC3 from BeSweet. None of my 3 Pioneers will play anything with BeSweet AC3. Just a warning, BeSweet ain't that sweet.
