  1. Hey folks,

I recently started working on authoring DVDs and i got pretty far if i say it myself. I found a lot of usefull stuff in here, but i encountered a problem wich i havent been able to solve so far.

I ripped of the video and audio from a DVD (m2v/ac3). I synced my .srt file and converted it to a .sup so IFOEDIT can work with it. I multiplexed the m2v/ac3/sup files with IFOEDIT, and also added chapters (using CellTimes.txt file, wich IFOEDIT can generate from the orriginal DVD ifo's). After hitting OK i waited a cpl minutes and i had myself some VOB files. I Copied them over the ald VOB files of the orriginal DVD. After that i used IFOUPDATE to update all IFO files of the DVD. When that was done IFOUPDATE told me to do something with IFOEDIT like 'Get VTS Sectors' and i did.

When all this was done, i played the movie in PowerDVD and everything looked perfect. Subs were sunc, the menu worked, so i thoug... lets burn this baby. After i did that and placed the DVD in my Home DVD player (JVC THA9R), it mixed up the subtitles totally. Some lines were displayed too long, and some subtitles werent displayed at all!

I really hope if any of u guys can help me out here, and tell me if i do something wrong.

    Tx in advance,

  2. Hi,

Assuming that you have set the colours correctly and that subtitle times don't overlap?

It would appear you DVD play does not like my subtitles. A small number of people have reported this preblem with standalone players.

Unfortunatley I do not have an oficial specification for SUP files and have had to work is out, so I think I have not set all values correctly and some players pick up on this!

I do not have a solution at present

    Regards
