having just spent some time over the weekend creating iso files for burning, I now find I have used up lots of hard drive space.
Would compressing the iso files (say to zip format) actually save much space?
Or would it be a waste of time?

depends what is IN the iso files as to how much you can compress it .. if its mpeg files -- it will not compress a lot ...
ussually you use ace or rar compression on big files... not zip"Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
sorry about being off topic.
The iso files are of the matrix and matrix reloaded.
Anyway what do you need to compress into rar? -
those will not compress much at all -- no point to waste time trying ..
