  1. Is playing my VCD in Black and White.
    DOes the same with SVCDs.

    Why would this be?

    I've searched and pound this thread

    Clark,
    This unit is a UK model designed to playback PAL discs and not NTSC. You may want to check your discs, you will probably find out they are in NTSC format (29.97 fps). This is common for Sony units, while many cheaper players out there will play discs and convert to any format (PAL or NTSC), I believe all the Sony's are designed to only play the discs from the area they are sold in. On top of that, still another reason not to buy Sony DVD players - no region hacks, you have to add a chip to play discs from outside the region the unit was designed for.
