  1. Hi!

I have a Pioneer DV-414 dvd player and a Plextor 708 dvd burner. When I burn a movie using DVD+rw media the dvd plays just fine in my dvd player. But when I copy it to a DVD+r using the DVD+rw as source it stops working. The dvd player says "unplayable disc" or something like that. Acourding to the DVD player compability list here on dvdrhelp my player is supposed to handle DVD+r just fine. How can this be?

It might depend upon the brand of DVD +R media you use. Have you tried other brands? Also, it might depend upon how old your DV-414 is. The DVD +R spec wasn't released until mid-2002, so if your player was manufactured before then, it might not work with +R. The same model player manufactured at a later date might support +R. So you never know until you do a little more experimenting.

  3. The brand that was used was Maxell 4x DVD+r. It was quite an early model. It might be that the player is too old
