Hi freinds,
I tried to convert an *.avi file to *.mpg with VirtualDub by separating the *.wav file from the video as well as with TMPenc, but the result with the VirutalDub was: Audio didn't matched with the Video and TMPenc resulted no Audio.
Please help me with how to solve this problem, because I tried to convert this avi file to Mpg with TMPEnc but same result with no audio.
NEED URGENT HELP. Thanks

The audio is obviously in a format TMPGEnc can't understand. First, convert it to WAV.
To do that the easy way, just load the AVI in GoldWave and save wav. If your encode suffers from desync (audio is a little too early - happens rather frequently when separating A/V and then joining them) just insert corresponding amount of silence at the beginning of wav.

Thanks man,
Can you please tell me the corresponding software and steps to add silence to my wav.
How I will exactly know how much silence I have to add? Also after splitting the wav, should I use TMPEnc or Virtual Dub to add the wav with the video again?
Second thing is, if the sound is slower instead of early than video, how I will fix that problem.
Thank you anyway for your reply, please help me out if you have more time.

First, after getting the WAV from Goldwave, use your AVI as video source and this wav as audio source (in TMPGEnc). Encode a short clip (a minute or so) so you can verify sync.
- If audio is too soon (ahead of picture) add silence at start of wav:
Load wav in GoldWave again, then use Insert Silence under the Edit menu. How much, you got to measure (use a stop watch) or just make an estimate from your clip.
If audio is too late (after the picture) you have to cut a piece at the start:
Measure how much, then place left marker at start of wav, and right marker at the right point in time (let's say 0.5 s), then use Cut from Edit menu.
In my experience, I've never found an AVI where the audio after separating A/V was too late, but it's not impossible.

You are Great....
Thanks a lot bro,

P.S.: Though it seemed to be very hard adding the actual amount of silence in the wave file. Couldn't find the right figure yet.
