While extracting a movie with DVDShrink, is the speed of extraction standard or can it be adjust to the read speed of a particular drive? TIA

It's the decrypting and compressing that take up most of the time, not the actual ripping of the files. You can't really make that go much faster. If you have a disk that doesn't need either, it takes about 15 minutes. Otherwise, about a half hour.

ebenton, how do you know if decryption is needed. About compression, I am aware that I choose wheater I want the backup be compressed or not, but about the decryption thing, do I have any kind of control?

DVD Shrink detects if decryption is needed, and if not, won't do it.
