  1. I have this particular mpeg2 video.
    After opening it with WMP, WMP tried to download a codec but failed.
    In the end, I can watch the video but there's no audio.
    Looking at the files properties, the audio codec is UNKNOWN and the video codec is CyberLink Video/SP decoder.

    NOTE: This problem is funny cause few days ago WMP was able to download the audio codec. But now it cant

    Sounds like it might be AC-3 audio. In which case you need to download and install the AC3 Filter or just use a DVD software player such as PowerDVD or WinDVD etc.

    Test your file with avicodec and get the identified codec.
