Old dvd player has given up the ghost. Need to replace.
Cannot find one that will play backup dvd's (dvd-r). Have tried a panasonic rv62 to no avail.
Any suggestions as it is getting kind of expensive.
No problems with the media as everyone else seems to be able to play them ok. They all have older models of players that have been discontinued so we can't get one linke theirs.
Is it some new media the manufacturers have introduced?
Getting very frustrating.
The Panasonic wouldn't even play a dvd we hired from the video shop the other day.
They seem to play for 45mins or so and then freeze.
Someone please help.....![]()

Pioneer dv-333 can be had for under 80$.
JVC NV40BK also plays all formats and is under 80 after rebate.
Also, when playing backup dvd and connected to amp with digital connections, a slight sound track pause is evident. I fixed that by using rca connections.
ps, I have the JVC, good unit, plays all, even RW. -
Tha panny rv62 should play - media according to the dvdrhelp dvd player table.
