okay, i got 24 episodes of friends as 24 vob files each of them about 815MB in size. I want to create 4 DVDs each containing 6 episodes. Whats the best way to do it?`could i create an image on my HD and then use dvd2oneX?
i just dont want to mux and demux the whole stuff. i would like a simple solution.
any ideas?
thanks1

1. if your player will play straight up .vob files, burn them directly to the disk. for example, my dvd player will play .vob files they show up as a "folder" menu screen, i select play folder and it plays all .vob files in order of the burn. not all dvd players do this mind you!
2. if you want "standard" dvd out of these babies, ie can play on any dvd player you will HAVE to demux and author them as a dvd folder. now its not difficult, but you will have to demux them. but thats like less than 1 min of work for each .vob. they demux into .m2v and .ac3 which you then load into sizzle to build your proper dvd.
each episode will then be 1 chapter, pretty easy.
but you may not be able to fit 6. 5 for sure
NOW however, you can use dvd2one on this sizzle created disk. so if you want 6, just put 6 on build the dvd and then dvd2one it down to 4.4 gigs
make since? -
hey thanks, i think ill go the second way... but is there a programm that will demux both ac3 tracks? cuz i have 2 audiotracks as i like friends in english as well...
-
good question, problem is im not sure how you would then add 2 audio tracks to 1 .m2v using sizzle.
anyone know how he/she may achieve this? -
i figured this is no problem. simply add 2 audiotracks to the title. okay, it all should work this way now, but the demuxing with bbDEMUX takes more than 15 minutes for 1 800MB vob file... is there any better solution??
thx -
by the way, when i create the image in sizzle a windo appears that says "remultiplexing - demultiplexing videotrack from track 1"
why? i already demultiplexed it with bbDEMUX.??!
or isnt it neccessary to first demux the file? can i put the vobfile right into sizzle and it will do the demuxing itself?
thx -
its just remultiplexing them back together thats all. I dont think you can add a .vob direclty, maybe with the newer version but thats never worked for me at all so i still use the earlier version.
per the time involved, you could try ffmpegx's demux tool, maybe its a little faster.
a 800 meg vob doesnt take but a few min on my machine with ffmepgx so hopefully its a little faster for you -
okay, it crashes when it comes to writing the image with the added vob files.
its somehow faster now with bbDEMUX, works perfectly for me. and fortunately its just one season. the other ones i will copy using dvd backup an dvd2onex, cuz i got them on dvd and not just as vob file..
thanks again.. -
no prob. what version are you using? i dont see how to add .vob's in v.1
-
yea, i have never gotten v.5 to work. it always crashes for me...
