btc writer problem

hi all

just bought a btc dual writer and some mirror platinum dvd-r 4x discs

first time ive used a dvd writer so please bear with me!

converted an xvid avi to mpeg2 using mainconcept

then converted this to vobs using tmpg dvd author

this gave me audio ts and video ts folders

in the video ts folder this is what is in

video ts
video ts bup
video ts ifo
vts 01 0
vts 01 0 bup
vts 01 0 ifo
vts 01 01 - 1.4gb
vts 01 02 - 1.4gb
vts 01 03 - 1.4gb
vts 01 04 - 51mb

i then burned this to dvd using nero 5 at 2x (iso/udf using nero wizard)

now the problem

******* disc isnt recognised by anything i put in even the computer

just says no disc

unfortunately i havent got any other dvd media as yet but have burned a cdr with no probs

is it the media or something else

any help appreciated cause im stuck at the mo

Sounds to me that you are on the right track with the converting and authoring, so you may be right in your assumption that the problem might be the media. But I would suggest trying to play it on a few other dvd players if possible, just to see if it would play at all.
