  1. Just and odd thing that has been bugging me for the past week... every time i convert avi to svcd/mpg2 the ouput file after conversion has no extention... just filename.file .... the file does contain the video however all my authoring prgrams are rejecting the file(s) because it does not have the mpg extention... does anyone know why the are not being named .mpg while still containg the .mpg video?

IF i where to downlaod an svcd/mpg2 file and leave it on my hard drive it still keeps its extention of .mpg and all my old mpg files are fine.. its just the ones from my TMPGEnc conversion that have no extention.

Dear Spider, I had the same problem for awhile until i realized that TMPEG names the file you output exactly what you write in the last window in the wizard, so if you do not put .mpg there it won't have it either. I ended up changing the names of the files in windows explorer and adding .mpg to the end of the names and that did it for me. Good luck-Lars
