  1. I'm trying to back up DVDs using DVD Decrypter and Pinnacle Instant Copy as I have done for the past 6 months but now whenever I try to burn a DVD using Instant Copy the programme crashes at the testing section. It'll get to menu title test 3 and then stop progressing, the timer on the bottom keeps going up and the only way to exit the programme is CTRL + ALT + DEL. The problem started when I tried backing up a copy of the Clash Westway to the World, since then I've been able to back up 2 Fast 2 Furious but keep getting crashes on XXX, the Clash and Lion King (both discs). Any ideas on how to fix this?

I tried to use instant copy too and had a lot of crashes like yours. I contacted pinnacle and multiple attempts to fix the crashes were not successful. I stopped using it and now just use dvd shrink and burn with nero express and no problems.

  3. might try converting PDI to ISO (free utility available @mrbass guide site for IC) and burn with Decrypter. good luck.

  4. Noki, would that still allow me to get a 9GB file onto a 4.7GB file without out loosing menus and keep a good image quality?

the xx.pdi file is the resultant file IC creates to burn onto your dvdr (ie it's the compressed/shrunken file). converting to ISO is just a way to allow another progs (nero, burn@once, decrypter, copytodvd, etc.) to burn IC's output. cuz IC's burning engine might be faulty in your case.
also to ensure the xx.pdi file is good play it back with powerdvd/windvd using the latest Daemon Tools (freeware)...it mounts .pdi files directly. actually while you have your file mounted in DT (and it plays okay of course), why not try doing a direct burn in nero (or other burning prog) using the virtual drive as the source use RW first just in case.
    good luck
