  1. I am confused what the difference is between just burning a mpeg file by itself vs. burning a cue/bin to make
    a standard svcd. Does the svcd structure just allow for subtitles, additional audio, etc.? The reason I ask is I have been using dvd2svcd to make svcd and I burn cue/bin and everything works fine. But sometimes when I download small mpegs I have burned the mpegs directly so in my dvd player I can choose which file to play. Downloaded mpegs work fine doing this, but when I get small avi files and convert them to mpeg with dvd2svcd and burn them directly it plays back blocky/skips. When I make a cue/bin out of the same small mpeg using VCDEasy, then it plays ok. I know how to use VCDEasy to put multiple small bins on one disc, but then it plays right away in dvd player instead of being able to select the mpegs. Thanks

  2. theres a whole file system on a SVCD:
    Go to the section labeled SVCD File/Folder Structure at https://www.videohelp.com/svcd there's a lot more to it then putting an mpeg on a cd.
    Ejoc's CVD Page:
    DVDDecrypter -> DVD2AVI -> Vobsub -> AVISynth -> TMPGEnc -> VCDEasy

    DVD:
    DVDShrink -> RecordNow DX

    Capture:
    VirualDub -> AVISynth -> QuEnc -> ffmpeggui -> TMPGEnc DVD Author

    And an 80 min. CD will hold 800 Mb as a VCD vs. 700 MB as a data disk.
