Capture with MainConcept + audio playback???

Hi
Been using MainConcept MPEG Encoder to capture to mpeg2 dvd from vhs
Capture - all goes well and audio is in sync.
However
play back in WMP - fine audio+video
play back in PowerDVD - video - NO audio
Import file to TMPGEnc DVD Author - fine audio+video (48KHz 224kbs)
playback vobs in powerDVD NO audio!

view mpeg file in AVIcodec - Audio : 0.0 B, 0 Kbps, 44100 Hz, 2 channels, 0x51 = Mpeg-1 audio Layer 2 [0xc0], Supported !!!!!

Any idea's

Also converted a TextureLoop.AVI from MainConcept website to dvd mpeg2 (default settings) to use as motion backround, avi is 4seconds long pal 100 frames but resluting mpeg file is 3 frames short - plays to 3:21 !!

What am I missing here?

Update
The 1st prob is still there (but plays fine on settop box when burnt onto dvd)

The second prob with the 4 second loop is still there no matter what I do,
encodes full 100 frames if I use TMPGEnc (plays to 3:24)

Ant ideas
