um..I have never done this (seeing how anything I want to record from DVD goes directly to VCD) but you should be able to plug your DVD player into the video in of your vcr...play the DVD, and wherever you want to start recording...hit record....

I think? can it be that easy?

Macrovision will kick in as soon as you try to record. You can get your player de-Macrovisioned or buy a Macrovision remover device that plugs into the A/V out cabling of your player so that you can record to VHS. The bad thing is that Macrovision own many of the patents for these Macrovision removal devices, so they are not very widespread. Look in the back pages of a DVD / Audio Video magazine or search the web if you want to buy one.

  5. A timeconsuming solution is; rip DVD to your PC make a SVCD (DVD2SVCD), and then record your SVCD to VHS from your player, only solution I can think of than does not involve a lot of $$$.

  6. You can use one of those boxes that go inbetween the players. I use one that I bought for my VCR dubbing 9 years ago and it actually works really good for taping DVD's. (The salesman at Circuit City gave me this tip). You can get these online for $30 to $60. I've tried it on Pioneer DV-343 and Pioneer DV-434. I got mine from Vista International, 1971 East Fifth st. STE. 101, Tempe, AZ 85281 602-829-8110 Model VS-400 Intelestar Video Stabilizer. Don't know if they're still around though. I dod see the box online about a month ago though.
