Just being viewing posts and see that there is a direct x 8 patch mentiond for capture improvements.
    Anyone know:
    what the improvements are
any other issues such as compatibility probs.
member : RaleighNC, it was in your post so any more info you can supply would be gratefullly received.

By the way has anyone being running virtual dub 1.47 in comprison to 1.45. Is it just my imagination ordoes version 1.47 seem a bit more unstable and prone to random frame drop.

  2. the patch is a digital video update, and I did not notice any difference after installing it except in virtualDub when you press capture and it brings up the confirm button, the audio cuts out.

for the patch. it is built in to winXP but installable from all other OS.

as for more dropped frames, havent noticed any from 1.45 to 1.47. though 'random' frame drops aren't really random, they are dropped to keep audio timing between video frames and audio frames.

  4. you are probably trying to capture audio in a compressed format, like mp3 or divx audio.

try capturing audio in PCM CD Quality and let us know.
