Ok here is my prob. i created a dvd using the big 3 and scenarist. one problem during the making was when i went scenarist it gave me errors with the subtitles, it was expecting a subtitle were i deleted it earlier in reauthorist. so i just deleted the subtitle. there was always another subtile in the pgc, because it was usually another language subtitle that i was getting rid of. but anyways the main prob im having is when i go to play it in the dvd player it gets to the first menu which is a selection between previews of other movies and the real main menu. after you click to go the main menu do screens come up both warnings about directors commentary and expressions of other and stuff. so on the second of these menus the movie will freeze and the dvd player says its searching but never goes anywhere. the dvd has worked in other dvd players but wont work in this one. and this one is the newer more compatible one. the other one doesnt play any vcd but will play dvdrs. the other one will play everything even dvdr except the ones i make with this process. i know i didnt give alot of substantial info. but dont really know what to put in here so if there is anything that you need to know to help me with my prob. please tell me. well thanks for the help.

That's a good question...I actually only saw this ONCE ...I still remember the movie...it was "BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM"....good movie by the way....anyway.....yea...I never bothered researching this...but i'm sure on the DVD AUTHORING forum..or maybe even this one..if you put in a search..you may find the answer. It is most likely an error with one of the big three.....on my Philips....when I play that movie...there is apparently no command that tells the disk to go to the "root" menu. After the warnings...etc....my player just stops. But if I hit the "NEXT" button..it goes straight to the "root" menu. I have been watching out for this to occur again...but it never has.
If some DVD STANDALONES you've tried to go to the menu after the warning screens...then there's probably a function within' those standalones that will automatically try to go to the root menu when the structure of a DVD isn't as expected. As far as i'm concerned...it's no big deal....unless of course..this problem happens constantly for you....which hasn't happened to me.
