Is it OK to remove all the user prohibited actions from a DVD when I backup my disks?
I just want to know if this will make the disks any less compatible after I do them?

No, you'll be fine. Go for it !
I don't like being told what I can do by a DVD either. -
Some rented DVDs have lots of trailers at the beginning of the film that you HAVE to watch every time, so removing the UOPs on the DVDR copy is a godsend. Plus i find it annoying when films wont let you switch bewtween audio tracks mid film.

I hope that's a typo, Andydd - you appear to have just admitted to "backing up" titles you've rented...

UEF - load all of the IFO files in sequence into IFOedit, click on Remove User Prohibitions (UOPS) and save the edited IFO file back into your compilation.
Easy money. -
The rented DVDs are really the same as the commercial ones. It's definitely annoying when I spend 15-20 dollars on a DVD and they force you to sit through 5-10 minutes of commercials.
One of the worst offenders of this is Universal. -

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?
