  1. hi im really new to burning vcds- i have several movies on my computer that i want to convert to vcd format. when i click on video source browse and click on the file to open i get error messages like file "C:\prgramFiles\sixth sense dvd rip 1 of 2.avi can not open, or supported. Does anyone know what this is and how i can fix it. I was able to open a couple of smaller clips and convert them but it took tmpge to convert a clip with a source position of 7 minutes 45 minutes in elasped time. Does it usually take this long to convert to vcd format or am i doing something wrong. I appreciate all the help

Open TMPG, go to option> enviromental setting> VFAPI plugin.
Set direct show multimedia file reader to a higher priority.
Hope you have the needed codecs installed properly.
Standard encoding takes long, HQ encoding takes even longer.
One question, did you convert the dvd vob files to avi and now to MPEG?

  3. i went to environmental settings but i can't change the priority box. its currently set at zero. I can only check it off on the left. In fact all the the items are checked off in that section. I copied all the codecs files and put them in the tmpge folder but im not sure if the codecs is installed properly. I downloaded the files off the internet and i believe that they were originally converted from dvd to avi. Its funny some of the smaller files work but it takes so long. Like 45-60 minutes. I think im doing something wrong, i need some help please,

torsjack, check all boxes. Right click on direct show multimedia file reader, click on "higher priority".

  6. hey thanks truman, i got it to come up but half way thru the encoding tmpg gives me a invalid stream error. Any clue what this could mean? It said 60 fps so i used ntscfilm could that be the problem. Or maybe some setting is wrong. Thanks for all the help.
