  1. had no problems until recently. getting a message saying problem with decrypting title numbers 2, 5, 14 etc. etc. asks me to skip or cancel. will the movie still be able to be ripped, compressed and burned properly? movie is finding nemo just in case you were curious. I know this is posted already, im sorry im writing the same question as others. How does one write and add a title set. Is it the .bup or .ifo in a dvd?

Did you play the DVD before attempting the rip?

Did you try any other rippers such as OSEx?

You know what, its like a disease. I have seen this more and more lately.
Are all you having problems in panther?

Because its the most recent thing that we have probably all updated to.

other than that I cant think of a solution....
I have been unable to do several dvd's as well. The only way is to go into 10.2 (if you still have it) and test it.

if someone one could please do that (if you have one that you can do this on and have 10.2 to boot into still)

  4. I am having the same problem with DVDBackup 1.3 and I am running Panther on a dual 2gig G5. I am skipping the files it won't decode and will let you know if it works.

So Panther is looking like the blame here. Makes me glad I never installed it. I wonder is the programs are just needing updating or if a bigger change will be required.

well it would be nice to see an updated dvdbackup. its almost been 1 year! perhaps added support to rip portoins of the dvd and have it still maintain playabality (ie like an ifo edit while ripping)
    but maybe im just dreaming

No, I just got the same errors using 10.2.8.

However, I am currently trying it with OSEX with KEY REFRESH set to VOBU and it looks to be working just fine. More in 20 minutes or so.

Is there a more current OSEX than 0.0110a1? It hates to do folders when there are more than just an AUDIO and VIDEO folder...

  8. Ripped fine with OSEX. I think you can get the same results with DVDBackup if you play all the chapters on the disk (a REAL problem with all the extras and easter eggs).

  9. Yeah, OsEX worked to rip and then DVD2One had no problems either.

Not always the solution, but often it does work. For the 2 i had trouble with neither OSeX nor DVDBACKUP1.3 process the file. ah well.....

  11. Had the same problem with DVD Backup with Finding Nemo. I used OSEX and the movie ripped perfectly. Burnt it with Toast 6.0.3. I have a G5 dual 2ghz running Panther.

  12. Everything ripped for me with finding nemo in 10.2.8 with 0sex but when i was playing it off of my HD it froze in one spot.. not sure if that is becasue of 10.2.8's DVD Player being crappy or what. Did not test burn it and try it in my DVD player though. I will give it a shot i think. I have noticed that the problem seems to be the one i saw in another topic about bogus vob files to throw off archiving software. It has a bunch of 8k VOBs on the DVD.

It's funny, I've noticed OSEX has 'quirks'. If there are more folders on the disk than AUDIO_TS or VIDEO_TS, OSEX chokes on them. You can sometimes do a non-rip copy of just those two folders from the DVD to your HD and rip it from there.
