Limitation of the card I am afraid. I have yet to find anything to fix it.

Use this Program DScaler URL deinterlace.sourceforge.net

If it used to work fine then it's not a limitation of the card. Something has changed on your system and set-up to be causing the present problem. Have you done any kind of PC upgrades or changed the way your cable or video input is set up? What capture software are you using?

**slaps forhead**
Geuss I need to read the whole post next time as opposed to skimming.
Anyhoo I have never been able to get a great capture with the WinTV-Go no matter the source/cables/program. i can get okay captures but not great. -
I've never had a problem with the WinTV GO and can make some really nice looking S/VCD's from cable TV captures after minimal smoothing in VDub. But, I have read about people with these kinds of issues. The problem is that they can be really tough to track down.
This doesn't answer the original post, but it can be very effective to get your system running well and then burn a drive image or something to CDR so you know that you can always restore it to that state if necessary in the future.

Ok I have made it look alot better.
Put a cable amp before my vcr, then used rca from my vcr to my wintv, then when I capture at 480x480 it looks a little better then it did before. im still gonna mess with it because it is still very frustrating to know it can do better.
Has anyone had problems with the 4.20 drivers. when I load them up I dont get video anymore just sound. -
what capture software are u using???? i have a studio pctv card and i get different qualities depending on the capture software... i have gotten the best quality from winVCR (winDVR) if u need that software email me at jayrose2k1@yahoo.com

Im usin Virtualdub and i just found some software for cleaning it up.
http://deinterlace.sourceforge.net/
Under the video section in the capture area of vdub the tweak b8x*** something like that click it. It will trell you what files you need. download dscaler from the above link and get the files out of the zip it gives you It will correct the card for best output. And if you mess with the luma slidebar it will smooth it out a little.
i have neve tried winvcr but will give it a shot right now.
