  1. I hope someone can help me. I backed up several DVDs and I can't get the to work correctly on a Sony DVP-S500D. I tried them on a Toshiba 1200 and they work fine, they also work on my PC. I tired using Nero and when that didn't work. I then tried ImgBurnTool ver. 1.00.9 and when that didn't work I tried ver. 0.90 and DVD Decrypter, but had no luck. The discs would either start off fine then get pixelated, then stop or I would get an error as soon a I put he disk in. I can't figure it out. I also tried both -R and +R. Any help would really be appreciated.

You have to remeber that dvd recordables are 99 percent compatible with dvd playes. Im not sure about the sony but it may fall into that 1 percent. I made the mistake once using nero to burn a dvd to play on a ps2 all i got was black and white then i went into nero's options and set it to united kingdom pal.

  3. The funny thing is I split Hulk between 2 DVD-R in DVDShrink3 and the first one wont play but the second one plays great. I used the same exact method for both.

Then I tried backing up 28 Days Later one 1 DVD-R and it starts, then I get a disk error. Then I tried Finding Nemo on a DVD-R it play for about 30 seconds, the image pixelated and I actually saw an image of the 28 Days Later backup I had in the player before.

In Nero remember to select " Book Type DVD Rom " in the burn section of your complication.

I sometimes have seen that it might not be selected, then others it is..
When selected your back-up will play in 100% standalone players.

I have a sony DAV800 and it loves ' em

  6. Thanks for all your replies. This problem is driving me nuts.

I am using DVDShrink 3 amd Nero 6. I also tried ImgBurnTool ver. 1.00.9 and when that didn't work I tried ver. 0.90 and DVD Decrypter 3.1.7.0

The media I am using is from Allmediaoutlet.com. They are DVD-R Xtreme 4X (Generic 50 spindle silver on the top, purple on the bottom)

I've had that happen to me before as far as playing movie A and then seeing parts of movie B in it. I would take the orig movie and either shrink it or cut it in 2 and then author and burn in dvd author. Never had any problems. Nero now is only for burning VCD/SVCD and audio CD's.

Try and get your hands on some good media such as Ritek , TDK , Taiyo Yuden , or any brand RICOHJPNRO1 discs . See if that helps .
