movie freezing on dvd player but not computer?????

I burn a movie(Divx) from my computer to a dvd using TMGEnc and when I put it in my PS2 it freezes and shows me some menu and stops playing!!!BUT if I play it (the downloaded movie not the DVD)in windows media on my computer it is fine(no freezing).What is going on???



Also I burned MAtrix 2 and it stops playing audio 3 minutes into the movie on my DVD but it plays fine from the downloaded file on my computer??Are these related???

most likely your ps2's laser is going to shit or you're burning on shitty media

Welcome to the world! Downloaded DivX are crap. I'd say 9 out of then can't be converted to mpeg successfully without fixing up. Software AVI/DivX players are very forgiving and error tolerant, so the fact that you can view the DivX on your computer tells you nothing.
Use VirtualDub MP3 mod to scan for and remove bad frames and stuff. (There are guides for this on this site.) To boot, PS2 isn't the most compatible DVD player out there - try your effort out in a dedicated DVD player. (Again, not using a soft DVD player on your computer - they too tends to be more tolerant than their hardware counterpoint.)
