I am getting no sound from a XVID movie, both Gspot and AVIcodex show sound and video codexs installed. LAme MP3 encoder [acm] and xvid codex. anyone help please

Install the AC3 filter over in the tools section. ACM doesn't mean it's mp3. Most downloaded AVI's 2 disk or bigger have AC5.1 sound.

I'm thinking the right slider may not be turned up high enough. Bring up your volume controls and make sure they are up high enough.

If it's not AC3, then it's OGG Vorbis (assuming you have mp3 installed). MP3/Ogg/AC3 is 99.7% of downlaoded AVI's.
