If you've made backup(s) using version higher than 2.2.6 it will state that it burned sucessful, however, when you attempt to read the data of that backup dvd-r not dvd-rw you may have reading errors at 100%, which means you may not be able to backup a backup.

I tried all their version release todate including 2.3.10 with pc 15, but I had to revert back to 2.2.6 with pattin coufin 12 in order to create an error-free backup.
I used Alcohol 120% (image creating) or dvdinfopro and the error shows up @ 100%.

thanks, i'll check my backups tonight with dvdinfo pro for errors. have not backed up any backups yet. i assume if i can play the dvdr back completely (ie pc can read the disc) i can put it back on the HDD and burn another copy if needed.
BTW i have been unable to burn a dvd+rw with copytodvd...does not recognize the disc. contacted vso and they said update to 2.3.10 will fix problem. have not done so yet...nero burns them just fine.
link above does not work -
noki, this is no a direct link, because some admin don't like that, just copy it and paste it in the address bar then delete the xx in the link and type tt instead. About the DVD-RW, copytodvd screwed up three disk of Memorex, it made them unusable and yet other brand name worked fine - with any version. When you say copy the backup to the HD, do you mean just by draging the whole folder of the backup, or by using a burning software?

Lousk,
Do you even know what you are talking about?
For example, those Memorex DVD-RW disks did not get unusable 'cos of the proggie, but 'cos the quality of the disks themselves. Very well known fact – the disks ARE of very very bad quality.
If you are using inferior media, you cannot expect good or/and consistent results using ANY version of any proggie. -

i tried dvd+rws so i don't know if dvd-rws are treated differently. and yes, since your backup is non-encrypted (css, macro, rce)you can simply copy (ie no need to rip) the folders over to your hdd and burn. if it plays you should be able to copy
now since dvdinfo found error(s) you might not be able to do a direct copy...rom to burner. just an extra step to get it onto your hdd
thanks, i will look at that link later.
